Start the new year on the water with the Staniel Cay Sunfish Challenge, a long-standing local tradition that brings together sailors, guests, and spectators for a day of racing in the harbor.
Races begin at 10 AM, with participants encouraged to arrive by 9:30 AM at the Sailing Club Boatyard. Teams will compete across multiple heats, with prizes awarded for first, second, and third place.
Boats and rigging will be provided for competitors, though participants are welcome to bring their own Sunfish. Individual sign-ups are welcome and will be placed on teams.
The event is open to all ages, though some sailing experience is recommended. Whether you’re racing or watching from shore or by boat, it’s a lively and social way to kick off the new year.
Complimentary food and drinks will be available following the races.
Registration opens December 30 at the SCYC Marina Office.
